The Creepy eye

Hello and welcome,

Another Halloween make from me. I love to make for Halloween even though we don’t really celebrate Halloween in a bigger manor here in Sweden.

For this card I have used Tim Holtz products, accept from the black modelling paste which is from Deco Art.

I started with the background, cut a piece of watercolor cardstock, inked it with Walnut stain Distress ink and spritzed with water. Inked the edges with the same ink. Then I stitched around the edges with my sewing machine, using zig zag and straight seam randomly. After that I used Walnut stain Distress crayon on the edges. Now it’s time for the THS 010 Eyechart stencil and black modelling paste. Let dry. Apply some translucent Grit paste on random places. Let dry completely. Then Walnut stain crayon on top of the Grit paste. I splattered some black acrylic paint with my Splat brush and finally stamped some spiderwebs from CMS346, Tangled web.

I stamped the “eye” image from CMS413 Dearley departed, colored it with Distress ink’s and reinkers. Fuzzy cut and then inked the edges with Distress ink Walnut stain.

The small label in the upper left corner is a stamp from CMS412 Examination, stamped on Walnut Stain inked watercolor cardstock. The edges is inked with DI in Black soot. Fastened with a Idea-ology Index clip.

Here you can see the stamped web, Grit paste, the stitching and the splatters.

To get some dimension I took a Idea-ology Creepy eye, distressed it with Walnut stain Distress crayon and glued it on to the stamped image. Then I mounted a Idea-ology Optical lens with steel wire to the card, right above the eye. Very suitable. 🙂.

At the bottom of the card I mounted a sanded Idea-ology Quote chip with Walnut stain inked edges, also with steel wire. Here you can see that the stamped image is adhered with 3D adhesive.

To finish off the card I cut a piece of cardboard which I painted with black acrylic paint, matted on a sanded piece of “red” metallic Kraft stock with Black soot inked edges, which finally was mounted to the card base. All layers have 3D adhesive in between to get dimension.

I will try this card over at Simon says stamp Monday challenge - Spooky.

Walk of fame - Halloween

Hello and welcome,

Today I have a card which idea I came up with last year, a Walk of fame card with zombies. And what is more suitable than to try this idea out with the “new” slimline card trend.

I have used Tim Holtz products for this card.

I started with the background, cut a piece of watercolor cardstock and used Distress Oxides in Hickory smoke, Pumice stone and Black soot. Then I used the THSM086 stencil Stone with Distress ink Black soot.

Then I smeared out Grit paste translucent over the whole background, I wanted the feel of asphalt. When dry, I used Distress crayons in Black soot and Hickory smoke over the paste. More concentrated around the edges. I also used Distress ink Black soot around the edges. On top of everything I stamped the splatters from CMS 412 Examination, with Jet black Archival ink. Then I was happy with my “pavement“.

The Zombies are stamps from CMS350 Zombies, which I stamped on watercolor paper and colored with Distress ink’s and reinkers.

I used a star die from stash (I think it is an old Sizzix die), and cut out in both metallic Kraft stock and a dark red Kraft cardstock. I sanded them and on the metallic ones I used Walnut stain Distress ink on the edges.

For the title I cut letters from Black Kraft stock and Crackling campfire inked watercolor cardstock, using the 664177 Alphanumeric label die. I glued the letters together and offset them to achieve a shadow behind the orange letters.

I die cut the small labels from 657188 Tiny tabs & tags, colored with Distress ink Crackling campfire. The “No” is a stamp from CMS225 Correspondence and the actual numbers are from CMS 404 Glitch 2. Then I took mini fasteners to attached them to the card. The idea with the tags was that you should be able to search in an archive for the number to see who is actually hiding behind each zombie 🙂, creepy.

To finish the card I made a panel from watercolor cardstock and inked with Crackling campfire Distress ink, scratched the edges and then inked them with Black soot. Then mounted them with 3D adhesive on a black card.

I will try this card in the challenge over at Simon says stamp Monday challenge  - Spooky.

Thanks for visiting and take care,

Wicked card

Hello and welcome,

Every year in my hometown our local craft shop arrange a big craft crop with around 100 people participating twice a year, but this year are a bit different. So the shop owner arranged a smaller crop for maximum 49 people, following the Swedish ”public health authority” recommendations, and only for one day (normally two days). It was very nice to gather and craft together.

As Halloween is approaching I decided to make a Halloween card using Tim Holtz latest stamps.

I started with a piece of watercolor cardstock and used the Micro glaze technique using two stencils, the new THS 149 Script and THS129 Decayed. I used Distress Oxide spray in Black soot, Distress spray stain in Wilted violet and Distress Oxide ink in Crushed Olive. I used CMS 411 Anatomy chart and Distress embossing ink and stamped the images. Then I added white embossing powder and heated. These stamps are extremely detailed which I love. I used  Black soot Distress crayon around the edges.
I mounted the card on a violet layer of sanded Kraft stock, then on a green sanded layer of Kraft cardstock. Finally on a black cardstock. I used 3D adhesive for dimension.
I wired a string around the card and put a Idea-ology typed token on it. I used Distress crayon in Antique linen on the token to get the text more visible.
It almost looks like a chalkboard background.
The die cuts are made from green and violet sanded Kraft cardstock, and the Sizzix die Vintage spirits. The violet die cuts are mounted behind the green one to get dimension, and then added to the background with 3D adhesive.

I will try this card in the challenge over on Simon says stamp Monday challenge  - Spooky.

Physician Halloween card

Hello and welcome,

Halloween crafting is on a roll now, and today I will show a card with another set of Tim Holtz new Halloween stamps. The Anathomy chart CMS411. I have also used CMS412 Examination and CMS138 Apothecary.

I started with the background, watercolor cardstock, which I used Texture paste opaque and Tim’s stencil THS129 Decayed. When it was dry I used Distress Oxides in Forest moss and Walnut Stain. Then let dry again. After that I sprayed it with Crackling campfire Distress spray stain. Let dry and then I drybrushed it with an off white acrylic paint, to get the texture more visible. Then I mounted the card on another watercolor cardstock background which was inked with Walnut stain and stamped with the “dot stamp” from the Examination set with Distress ink in Crackling campfire. Behind that background I made an orange one with Crackling campfire Distress ink. I mounted them all on a black card blank.

I stamped the pelvis and colored it with Distress inks, and fuzzy cut it. Mounted it to the background with 3D adhesive.

I stamped the “table of the skeleton” on watercolor cardstock with Distress embossing ink, and used a copper embossing powder from Lindy’s stampgang, Midnight copper. Heated and then inked the edges with Walnut stain Distress ink. Stamped with the “dot stamp” in Distress ink Crackling campfire. I mounted the “sign” with Idea-ology mini fasteners. The small label on the right is a stamp from CMS138 using the same embossing powder and Distress ink.

The “Physician” is made in the same way as the above mentioned “signs”, as an addition I colored the word with Distress ink in Crackling campfire.
On the bottom of the card I stitched the “Identification check” sign on the left side and used a mini fastener on the right side.

I stitched a Idea-ology bone in the lower right corner.

I really love this Anathomy stamp set.

Thank you very much for visiting my blog.

Rose card

Hello and welcome,

Today I will show a card where I have used some of the new stamps from Tim Holtz Halloween release. For this card I have used CMS413 Dearly departed and CMS412 Examination. I also wanted to try the new fantastic Distress color, Crackling campfire. I have loved orange for as long as I can remember, and this orange is the “ bang on target” orange. So vibrant, happy and just beautiful in all ways. 🧡

The background is made on watercolor cardstock on which I stamped the small signs from the Examination set. I than stamped the “dots” with Distress ink in Crackling campfire. I used Distress crayon in Black soot around the edges. I mounted the background panel on another watercolor cardstock inked with Crackling campfire. Then behind that layer, a layer of cardboard which I have painted with black acrylic paint. I ripped of the upper right corner on the background and stamped the orange background with one of the sign stamps as well. In the lower right corner I put a Idea-ology Metallic sticker, which I sanded and put on some 3D adhesive.

The rose is colored with Distress ink’s in Crackling campfire, Aged mahogany, Forest moss, Peeled paint and Ground espresso. I used some glossy accent in the center of the rose.

Here you can see the ripped off corner better.
In the upper left corner I used a piece from the orange background and stamped the “Wholesale florist” stamp with Distress embossing ink, and then used black embossing powder, and heated. The edges of this sign is also distressed with black soot crayon. Mounted on 3D adhesive for some dimension.
The rose is fuzzy cut and then I wrinkled it in my hand and then folded it out again and glued it to the background. I only put glue on “the lower” points after the wrinkling and not on the “high” points. In that way it won’t lie flat on to the background. (This was a great tip from my husband), to get the card more “alive”.

Thank you so much for visiting,

“She was peculiar” tag

Hello and welcome,

Now it’s time for my favourite making season, Halloween. Even though we don’t really celebrate it here in Sweden I like it a lot. I have used Tim Holtz products for this tag.

I actually started this summer with the making of the background, using a Mixed media heavystock tag. I used one of my favourite techniques by Tim, the Micro glaze resist. First I used the THS010 Eyechart stencil with Spiced marmalade Distress Oxide spray and Carved pumpkin Distress Stain spray. Then the THS 061 Linen stencil with Faded jeans and Walnut Stain Distress Oxide spray.

I used seambinding band for the bow, which I sprayed with Crackling campfire and Black soot Distress spray stain. The cobwebs are stamped with CMS346 Tangled webs. The small bats are from the Sizzix die 661588.
I colored the paper dolls with Distress crayons and a small brush. I also used the new stencil THS149 Script on the background. The black spots on the background is from the new stamp set CMS412 Examination.
The big girl has a string around her arm, that is also sewn around the small girl’s head, so she can swing her from side to side like a marionette. Creepy. I have also put a black heart on the big girl, from Sizzix die 660226.

The church Is from 664194. Cut out from black Kraftstock and sanded. I used my sewing machine and stitched around the edges. And inked the edges as well with Black soot Distress ink.
Under the girls I placed a sanded Quote chip, which I also inked the edges on, with Walnut stain this time. I mounted the Quote chip with two long fasteners.

I will try this tag in a challenge over at Simon says stamp blog -Add a photo. I chosed to use the paper dolls as photos.
