Card with sewing theme

Hello,

When I was younger and after graduated school I took a one year class in sewing and weaving. A thing that,s given me much happiness in both my private and professional life.
Therefore I felt it suitable to make a card with that theme.

A while ago I ordered the newest colours of Distress Oxide,s, so when they arrived I wanted to play with them directly.

I started to make the background using DOX in Blueprint sketch, and an old but for me new, Tim Holtz stamp. Vouge.
I also used my sewing machine to make a couple of seams.

I stamped some sewing themed stamps (CMS 123) on some patterned Tim Holtz papers, cut them out and used as details on my card. I also found a small piece of Eclectic elements fabric in my stash and folded it and used as a decor as well.

The diecut with the scissors are a Tim Holtz edgedie. I painted it with brushed pewter Distress paint and treated it with Walnut stain Distress crayons to "grunge it up" a bit.

I finished my card off by using some ideaology pieces and some small talk stickers.

Behind the word "create" I used a Distress stain to "smoosh" to get the cool "mark".

For my manequin I used a piece of an old pair of jeans denim fabric.

All the edges are distressed with Walnut stain Distress ink.

I will share this card over at Simon says stamp blog - Monday challenge - Grunge it up.

Tag with Andy Skinner products and techniques

Hello,

I have attend a couple of classes with the very talented Andy Skinner over the years. I have enjoyed them very much! I Love his techniques!

Today I will show a tag I made using Andy,s stamps, stencils and Deco art media fluid acrylics.

First I made the background using  a Tando Creative greyboard tag. I started to use one of Andy,s stencils with texture paste. Then a couple of washes with Sap green, Paynes grey and Quinacridone gold. I finished it off by stamping with one of Andy,s background stamps.

I coloured the skull stamp with washes of paynes grey, then crackle glaze and after that some antiquing cream in the crackles. Nice effect!

On the bookplate I used one of Andy,s rust techniques.

Before I glued the stamp on to the tag I finished it off with some rusty wire.

Thanks for visiting, have a nice Sunday!

Valentine card for my husband

Hello,

I have made a card for my Lovely husband. We met when we were 17 and 18 years old, and have been a couple since 1983 and married ten years this year.

The card is made with only Tim Holtz products.

The background is made from Distress Oxides, and then I ran it through the "riveted metal" embossing folder. After that I used some stencils and made som more layers. I used Distress crayons on the edges. I mounted the background to a diecut card from Coredinations kraft stock and used an "I love you" stamp around the edges.

I started to build up the layers on the card with some ephemera pieces and die cuts. (I love layers ;) ).

The "countdown brads" are treated with aged mahogany Distress crayon.

I used a stencil to "create" nr 83 on the background, as it was the year me and my husband got together.

The two hearts with our initials are diecuts from chipboard, then grit paste through the brick stencil. Coloured with age mahogany Distress crayon.

I will try this card in the following challenges;

Thanks for visiting and have a Lovely Valentine´s day!

A sudoku tag for my Father

Hello,

The last update from 2017. A tag I made for my father at Fathers day in November. We celebrated him late because we was away on a mixed media happening in Coventry the actual date.

I used one of Tim Holtz  Hipster stamps. The background is made from a page I cut out from a sudoku book. I treated it with Distress collage medium matte and crazing. Then Distress crayons. The frame and the "count" text is made from the packaging from Tim Holtz stencils. I put crackle glace on the frame.
