Mother’s day card

Hello and welcome,

Today I will share the card I made for my Dear Mother for Mother’s day last Sunday.

I used the wreath die from Tim Holtz as the main focus.

I started with a piece of Watercolor cardstock, inked some Distress ink Pumice stone on my craftmat, spritzed some water and dippen the paper. Dried with my heat tool. Repeated until happy.

I used Tim’s heart stencil and Distress Texture paste matte. Let dry.  Then I sprayed some Distress spray stain Uncharted mariner and some water and dried again with my heat tool. I stamped some text with CMS328 Entomology stamp set and Archival ink in Ground espresso. Inked the edges with Distress ink Scorshed timber and stitched with my sewing machine around the edges. I also splattered a little bit with Distress spray stain  Uncharted mariner.

I diecut the pieces for the wreath from 666563 Vault funky floral wreath and Watercolor cardstock. Then inked the pieces with different colors of Distress ink. I also took a piece of a Ideaology Stencil card and dipped into some Distress ink Uncharted mariner and inked the edges with Scorshed timber. Used a Ideaology Tiny clip in the top left corner as decoration . I cut the heart with 666567 Vault rosettes from Watercolor cardstock. Inked it in Uncharted mariner and spritzed som water and dried with a heat tool. I also used a sewing thread and wired it around the heart. I think that gives such a nice effect.

I cut a base from dark brown cardstock and used 3D foam for dimension.

Here you can see the thread on the heart better. You can also see that I added two small pieces of Ephemera Snippets Curator. I sanded a little on the pieces and inked the edges before I glued them to the card. I stamped some postage stamps and numbers from CMS396 Field notes with Ground espresso Archival ink.

I made a cardbase from Kraft heavystock, inked the edges with Scorched timber DI. 3D foam again for dimension.

I will try this card over at Simon says stamp Monday challenge - Lots of texture.

Thank you for visiting my blog,

/Susanne
