Simon Says Stamp Designer Spotlight - Week 2 - Fun With Stencils

Hello and welcome,

It´s time for another challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog, and it´s is my second week in the Designer Spotlight.

I am really proud and so thankful for all the positive feedback and congratulations I have received from so many talented people. Thank you very much to everyone, and of course for the opportunity to contribute in this.

This weeks challenge is Fun With Stencils.

I started with the background and cut some Mixed media Heavystock and used Tim Holtz mini flowerstencil and some cracklepaste. Then I used three different colours of Embossing Glaze, added to the cracklepaste while wet. I then "let the fingers do the dance" as Tim says, under the card. Then heatset with my Heat tool. Then I sprayed over it with Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide spray, and spritz with water and heated. I inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress ink and then stitched with my sewing machine. Next step was the stamping, I used some stamps from CMS225 Correspondence.

Then I diecut the Perspective butterfly, from Kraft stock and sanded.

I cut a piece of sanded green Kraft cardstock a little larger then the background and then mounted it behind the background. Here you also can see all the crackle and that I have folded the butterfly around all the other layers.

I then cut another card a little bit bigger than the background from pink Kraft stock which I sanded and stamped with a text stamp from the stampset CMS328 Entomology.

The "flies" word is cut from White heavystock and then I used Distress Embossing ink and Speckled egg Embossing glaze. Then heated.

"With brave wings she" is stamped from CMS394 Tiny text with Archival ink. Inked with Walnut Stain Distress ink and then mounted on a piece of green sanded kraft cardstock with 3D foam.

Finally I mounted all the layers to a piece of cardboard, then to a black card blank.
The size of this card is approx. 17,5 x 12 cm.

We are hoping you will join in the challenge this week, it would be lovely to see you there and as always, there is a $25 gift voucher for one lucky winner to spend.
