Snarky cat card

Hello and welcome,

It’s not a secret that I love the Snarky cat stamps from Tim Holtz. I think they are so fun and cool.

This card is made with one of the Snarky cats from CMS 392.

I started with the background and cut a piece from Distress Mixedmedia heavystock, and used the microglaze technique from Tim H. I used the stencils THS145 Digits and THS129 Decayed. I used Walnut Stain Distress ink as background color and the same ink around the edges. In the upper left corner I put a tiny fastener.

I stamped some stamp images with Archival ink Jet black and one image with embossing ink. On the one with embossing ink I used Embossing glaze in Speckled egg and heated. The stamp set’s I used are CMS404 Glitch 2, CMS339 Mail art and CMS225 Correspondence. I also used my Splat brush and splattered some black Acrylic paint on the background. I stitched the edges with my sewing machine.
Then I took some more Micro glaze on my finger and rubbed on some of the stamped images, (the cross and the numbers), I did that because I wanted to be able to color these images without getting the background ink to “bleed” through. I heated with my heat tool to get the background permanent before I started to color with Distress Oxides. The cross in Speckled egg and the numbers in Chipped sapphire. I also used my sewing machine to stitch in the cross with red thread.
Then I stamped the snarky 😂 text with a stamp from CMS392 and Archival ink in Jet black on a Distress ink background, then mounted it on Black cardstock with 3D foam for dimension.

Then it was time for the main character, the Snarky cat. I stamped him on watercolor paper and colored him with Distress inks and reinkers. Then I fuzzy cut him.

Before I adhered my cat to the card I took a string and wired around the background a couple of times and finally added a Quote token. I used Distress crayon in Antique linen to get the text more visible on the token.

I mounted the background to a piece of black cardstock and then on a cardboard piece with Walnut stain inked edges, finally to a black card blank, all with 3D foam.

I will try this card in a challenge over at Simon says stamp Monday challenge - Four legged friends.

Thank you very much for your visit, take care,

/ Susanne
