Hello and welcome,
Almost September, time flies. I have been making but not blogging or put it on my IG. But I will try to catch upđ«Ł.
Today I have a card with some of the new Tim Holtz Halloween dies. As I have mentioned before, Halloween is not a “big thing” here in Sweden but I love to make for Halloween.
I started with the background on White heavystock, the THMS064 skull stencil and Distress Micro glaze. Then I sprayed it with Distress spray stain in Black soot and Carved pumpkin. I also used Distress Mica stain in Flickering candle for some splattering. This background was not successful, it get to wet and the skulls sort of disappeared to much. But I decided to keep it, because in some lights they are more visual. And moore creepy. I inked the edges with Black soot Distress ink and used my sewing machine for the stitching around the edges.
Then I used 666001, the new skull die Spencer, and cut the pieces from White heavystock. Then I used different Distress inks and oxides for the coloring. (Black soot DI, Hickory smoke DOX, Frayed burlap DI, Gathered twigs DI and Antique linen DI. Walnut stain DI around the edges). He is such a cool dude.
Then I cut the feathers from White heavystock with 666003 Feathery. I sprayed the feathers with Mica spray stain in Jack o’ lantern and Fortune teller. Stitched them with my sewing machine.
I inked a piece of string with some Ground espresso DI and tied the feathers together.
Next I diecut the “I’m here for the candy” text from the background with 665995 Bold text Halloween. I also colored a new piece of White heavystock with Distress spray stain in Carved pumpkin and Mica spray in Fortune teller, and used the same die. Then I glued the orange letters in the diecuts on the background.
I cut a piece from sanded orange Metallic Jewels paper and a piece of Black sanded Kraft stock. I adhered the card to the metallic piece with 3D foam and then glued the black to the orange. Then mounted on a black card blank (which is not visible from the front of the card).
I will try this card in a challenge over on the Tim Holtz addicts group #Halloween2022 and also in a challenge over at
Simon says stamp Monday challenge - Make your own background.
